I’ve been slacking

My goal is to post every day, but yesterday I was just too tired to finish my post before bed. I was trying to go to bed early, but of course Mr. Stinky Pants sensed that, and it took me 2 hours to get him to sleep. Oh well! The bright side is that he slept two 4-hour periods in a row! That’s really good for him! AND we went to Walmart last night, so I picked up my favorite Starbucks iced coffee packets. Mmmmm. I’ve had one today so far, and I think I’m gonna have another. They’re just so delicious.

Uhm…delicious!

Here are a few things I’ve run across today (so far):

  1. Zulily.com has nursing apparel on sale. I picked up a long sleeve nursing top for the fall for about $26, including shipping. That’s still cheaper than Motherhood Maternity (online, at least), and I think this one’s cuter.
  2. Houswife Mama has a blogger opp coming up for $1 a link. Blogger opps are a great way to get your blog name out their and bring in readers. If you sign up…consider putting me down as your referral, because that would be really nice of you. =D
  3. This is gross.
  4. It’s almost Women’s Equality Day. As a Soldier, this list is awesome to see.
  5. The Knotted Pineapple is now on Facebook. Their custom products are adorable, and you have the chance to win one right here next month!!
  6. The blogger opp on Jenn’s Blah Blah Blog is still open for sign ups. It’s free!

I’ll be posting a list of newborn and preemie cloth diapers a little later today, so stay tuned!

Note: If you’re a Justin Bieber fan, and I’ve offended you…oh well.

I didn’t screw up dinner tonight! So I’m really awesome.

And that is always an awesome thing. Hubby looks so dubiously at me sometimes while I’m cooking that it’s nice to produce something not only edible but delectable. 😉 It was lasagna. You may be thinking, “It’s impossible to screw up lasagna.” But if you think that, you do not realize how terrible of a cook I am. In fact, before I got married I determined to not learn how to cook. I avoided it completely. After all, I was an emancipated woman. *sigh* Annnd here I am…a stay-at-home mommy (SAHM) and wife. At least I can always hold to the fact that I’m a decent shot with a grenade launcher. I’m fairly certain the majority of SAHMs can’t say that. Can you feel the awesomeness I ooze?

Yeah, that’s me…being AWESOME. Yeah, that’s not a grenade launcher.

Okay, time to be serious. *snort* Anyone else out there addicted to Words with Friends? When I first started playing, I must’ve been having beginner’s luck, because I was trouncing people, but lately…not so much. I blame it on Mr. Stinky Pants. When I started teaching high school, I got stupider. My flawless English syntax and etymological skill disappeared within a few months. The longer I taught, the worse it got. For example, I didn’t used to use the word “got” all the time. It’s a terrible word! Ugh! And then I got pregnant. And then my brain got even dumber. Now I have to use the dictionary to look up the spellings of even simple words. I thought my intelligence would return after I gave birth, but it’s not happening.

Also, Mr. Stinky Pants gave me gray hairs.

Am I alone here? Who’s with me???

Things I should be doing now instead of writing this post…

Nah, let’s not think about that. Procrastination is the key to a relaxed, fulfilled life.

Okay, maybe that’s backwards.

I always stay up late on the nights hubby is working, which is strange…you think I’d be enjoying the snore-free sleep. Seriously, I’ve never met anyone who snores as terrible as he does. He needs surgery or something. He snores about five seconds after he puts his head down, and it doesn’t matter what position he’s in. I feel kind of bad for him some times. He can’t help it, you know? But people get so irritated by it!

I had some trouble tonight getting Mr. Stinky Pants (that’s baby J’s new nickname) to sleep. I was so excited last night when he slept two 4-hour stretches in one night! With a 2-hour stretch in between…but I’ll take what I can get. He usually does one 3-hour stretch followed by 2-hour stretches.

There’s was a period of about a week right around July 4, that he slept 5 hours at a time, which I consider sleeping through the night. But apparently he decided he didn’t like that schedule. His new thing now is that he insists on sleeping on his stomach. Pretty much on his face. Which is great   *sarcasm*   since he’s right smack dab in the middle of the highest SIDS risk time. But he doesn’t have any of the risk factors, and he’s been able to turn his head and hold it up since birth, so I’m not too worried. The problem is that he wants to sleep on his tummy with the paci in. The logistics of that are just really difficult for a 3-month old. So it seems like every 30 seconds he starts shrieking because he lost the darn paci, and I have to stick it back in again.

Tomorrow we’re driving up to Maryland to visit my old boss from my deployment to Afghanistan and his family. I’m very excited about that. Reminiscing is always fun.

Next week, I really need to figure out how that sewing machine works. I have several DIY projects I’m planning, and I’m in the middle of one right now. I’ll be blogging about those once I finish. Also coming up in my blog: a review on wool dryer balls, traveling with cloth diapers, how to convince someone to cloth diaper, and a blog-hop giveaway!

Okay, well, that’s the end of my ramblings for tonight. I know, nothing interesting happened today. Ciao.
