Review: New Repp-Stripe Necktie Collection by Puccini

I know I review a lot of baby items here on My Life: A Work in Progress, but sometimes it’s good to throw in a little something for the parents out there! Today I’ve got something for the men.

A California-based business, has an extensive selection of more than 3,000 affordable ties and bowties. Prices start at $5.90 (check their Sale section!). Although they go up to $34.90, many ties are available for around $8-15 each. They sell ties in extra long lengths for men over 6’3″ and short ties for kids. They also carry slim ties, if you’re looking for a more retro look.

I want to note, if you’re planning a wedding, the wedding section at Bows-N-Ties helps you coordinate their ties with color swatch selections from popular bridal stores or collections like David’s Bridal and Alfred Angelo. That’s a neat feature!

We were sent a tie to review in aubergine and pink from the new repp-stripe Puccini collection.

aubergine purple and berry pink

The repp-stripe collection is available in the following nine color combinations: grass green & white, bright red & white, aubergine purple & berry pink, festive silver & white, yellow & navy, brick red & midnight blue, amber yellow & white, oasis blue & white, and deep burgundy & gray.

Made with microfiber, these ties are more stain and wrinkle-resistant than silk ties. Each of these ties retails for just $9.90.

Our Experiences:

I never would have thought this tie retails for under $10! It feels and looks like the more expensive silk ties my husband owns. My husband wears ties every Sunday to church and occasionally when we go out (just to dress up). He was going to pair it with a white shirt, but he ended up finding a dress shirt on sale for $5 at the mall that matched the stripes perfectly. For slacks he decided on dark-wash jeans. I think he looked pretty snazzy, and he was a real trooper to let me photograph him and put his photo up on this blog!

Puccini Ties

We will definitely purchase from Bows-N-Ties in the future. Most of the ties we’ve shopped for at department stores start at $25 (at least). Being able to buy an expensive-looking tie for half that price is definitely appealing. I also like that it’s easy to search their site by tie color. Shipping is reasonable, and they have a flexible return policy.

By the way, works with a senior dog rescue organization called Muttville. How cool is that?! To find updates on these adorable doggies that need homes, get more info about Bows-N-Ties, and enter their weekly tie giveaways, visit Bows-N-Ties on Facebook.
