Things I should be doing now instead of writing this post…

Nah, let’s not think about that. Procrastination is the key to a relaxed, fulfilled life.

Okay, maybe that’s backwards.

I always stay up late on the nights hubby is working, which is strange…you think I’d be enjoying the snore-free sleep. Seriously, I’ve never met anyone who snores as terrible as he does. He needs surgery or something. He snores about five seconds after he puts his head down, and it doesn’t matter what position he’s in. I feel kind of bad for him some times. He can’t help it, you know? But people get so irritated by it!

I had some trouble tonight getting Mr. Stinky Pants (that’s baby J’s new nickname) to sleep. I was so excited last night when he slept two 4-hour stretches in one night! With a 2-hour stretch in between…but I’ll take what I can get. He usually does one 3-hour stretch followed by 2-hour stretches.

There’s was a period of about a week right around July 4, that he slept 5 hours at a time, which I consider sleeping through the night. But apparently he decided he didn’t like that schedule. His new thing now is that he insists on sleeping on his stomach. Pretty much on his face. Which is great   *sarcasm*   since he’s right smack dab in the middle of the highest SIDS risk time. But he doesn’t have any of the risk factors, and he’s been able to turn his head and hold it up since birth, so I’m not too worried. The problem is that he wants to sleep on his tummy with the paci in. The logistics of that are just really difficult for a 3-month old. So it seems like every 30 seconds he starts shrieking because he lost the darn paci, and I have to stick it back in again.

Tomorrow we’re driving up to Maryland to visit my old boss from my deployment to Afghanistan and his family. I’m very excited about that. Reminiscing is always fun.

Next week, I really need to figure out how that sewing machine works. I have several DIY projects I’m planning, and I’m in the middle of one right now. I’ll be blogging about those once I finish. Also coming up in my blog: a review on wool dryer balls, traveling with cloth diapers, how to convince someone to cloth diaper, and a blog-hop giveaway!

Okay, well, that’s the end of my ramblings for tonight. I know, nothing interesting happened today. Ciao.

Review: Rumparooz One Size Pocket Diaper

Although our diaper stash has an assortment of pocket diapers, prefolds, fitteds, all-in-ones (AI1), and all-in-twos (AI2), we do find ourselves reaching for the pockets more often. Although this will change when my son potty trains, right now I like that the fabric wicks the moisture away from my son’s skin. My husband likes how easy they are to use. I also can’t complain at how quickly they dry. One dryer cycle on low heat, and then I pop them outside in the sun to dry in just a few hours.

Made by Kanga Care, the Rumparooz One Size Pocket Diaper is at the pricier end of pocket diapers, retailing at $23.50+ at Diaper Junction.

Shop Diaper Junction to save $5 off your first $50 order – Use coupon AFL550 – Some restrictions apply.

The waterproof outside of this diaper is made with TPU, which I prefer over the more plastic-feeling PUL. This diaper comes with a snap or Aplix closure.

Unlike most one size diapers, Kanga Care states the Rumparooz pocket will fit a child from 6lbs. to 35lbs. and up due to the adjustable rise snaps on the front. This enables the same diaper to be used in four sizes from birth to potty training.

The Rumparooz One Size Pocket Diaper comes with two microfiber 6r soakers to be inserted in the pocket. Using the snaps, these two soakers alone and combined comprise 6 different settings: newborn, small/medium, medium/large, medium doubler, girl doubler, and boy doubler. This allows you to customize the absorbency. You can also separately purchase 6r soakers, including those made with hemp or bamboo.

The patent-pending double inner gussets are exclusive to Rumparooz. These are designed to hold in messes. The hypo-allergenic micro-chamois inside of this diaper is super soft against my baby’s skin.

It’s a little bulky on my son, but most one-size diapers are, since he’s still pretty young and skinny. He was about 2.5 months in this photo. I ended up using this diaper overnight with him, using the boy doubler setting on the 6r soaker. I was very pleased when there were no leaks the next morning! Pocket diapers usually leak on him if they’re left on longer than a short nap. All in all, it’s a good, solid pocket diaper. It holds a lot; it’s super comfy feeling; it has a lot of adjustability for absorbency and size. I would buy it again. Probably the best thing about this diaper though, is the super cute bum!!

I feel like super mom…or not

Because I have bread baking in the bread maker. Diapers are hanging outside, drying. I’ve had lunch (THAT is truly an anomaly). Baby’s sleeping. I’ve worked on my sewing project…

Okay, now that I’ve listed it, it doesn’t actually sound that great. Hmmm Why do I feel like I’ve been working hard all morning then?!
