Review: Nuby Insulated Clik-It Sipper

Nuby Clik-It Insulated Sipper. Find out more on My Life: A Work in Progress

I have another fun Nûby product to share with you today! Nûby sent us the new No-Spill Insulated Cool Sipper to review. It’s the newest sippy cup in our cupboard and our favorite.

First, I love the Clik-It technology, and I’m so glad Nûby came out with a line of Clik-It cups. Just today I handed Baby J a sippy cup (it wasn’t a Nûby cup); he tipped it back to drink and dumped water all over himself, because I didn’t put the lid on properly. Oops. I’m just glad it was water and not milk. With the Clik-It cups this won’t happen. You know if you hear that “click,” the lid is on properly.

The cup is BPA-free and available in several fun colors.

Because this cup is insulated, it also keeps drinks cooler longer than a regular sippy cup without a “sweating” cup that gets all over everything. It’s my favorite cup to toss in the diaper bag. I even chose it as the one cup Baby J and I took with us to Florida to visit Hubby. It’s usually the one we take to church too, so it’ll keep his water cool for several hours while he plays in the nursery.

Jogging with Mama…Baby J gets thirsty too!

It’s important to get the spout into the lid properly, or the lid will leak…so watch for that. It’s a soft spout, by the way, unlike some of the other insulated cups I’ve seen. I’m very happy with this cup, and I wish all of Baby J’s cups had the Click-It feature!

You can buy Nûby’s Clik-It cups from Target.

Review: Nuby Sure Grip Bowl and Feeding Spoons

I have another fun, useful Nûby product to share with you today! I was sent the Nûby Sure Grip Bowl and a pack of Nûby’s Feeding Spoons to review.

About:

Made of BPA-free polypropylene, the Nûby Sure Grip Bowl is tough and break resistant. The ergonomic design allows it to fit in either hand comfortably, left or right. A perfect size for baby foods, the bottom features a non-skid base.

Find the Nûby Sure Grip bowl at BuyBabyDirect and Amazon.

The Nûby Feeding Spoons are designed to make mealtimes easier for parents. These BPA-free spoons have a long handle, perfect for reaching into tall baby jars, so there’s less mess. The decorations on the handle make it easier to grip the spoon securely.

Find the Nûby Feeding Spoons at BuyBabyDirectAmazon, IdealBaby, TJ Maxx, and Tuesday Morning.

Our Experiences:

This bowl is great! It really does have an ergonomic design. It’s very comfortable to hold in either hand. One end of the bowl is a little higher than the other end. This is a bonus when it’s filled with runny foods or purees. When you hold a bowl in your hand, it’s not natural to hold the bowl flat. It’s more comfortable to have the bowl tilted. If I hold the Sure Grip Bowl with the higher end toward me, nothing falls out even though the bowl is tilted back. The higher end levels it out.

I also really like the spoons. I don’t buy jarred baby food a lot; I make my own and reuse the jars that I do have. The spoon does keep the mess off my hands, because the handles are quite long. I’ve also found them to work well when filling reusable squeeze pouches. Again, it makes the process less messy. They’re very sturdy too. The directions say top-rack safe in the dishwasher, but I’ve washed them in the utensil basket on the bottom of the dishwasher, and they were fine.

Yes, Baby J is trying to pour water out of his sippy cup into his oatmeal surprise. Fortunately, it’s a no spill Nuby Grip N’ Sip Cup so his efforts were in vain!

Review: Nuby Sound Bite

Nuby Mommy BloggerAs an official Nuby Mommy Blogger, I have another fun Nuby product to share with you!

About the Product:

Nuby Sound Bite weaning spoons make feeding more enjoyable for babies and their parents. The spoons are flexible and soft at the end to be gentle on sore baby gums. A set of two weaning spoons comes with one sound bite- either a train, a car, or an airplane that makes the appropriate noise at the press of a button. The sound bite slides off the spoons easily, making dishwashing a breeze.

Baby J with his Nuby Sound Bite

Our Experiences:

The first thing I noticed was that the spoon handles are a little wider than the other brands of baby spoons we own. I actually liked this, and felt I had a more stable grip on the spoon. The stability is important when Baby J is trying to wrestle the spoon or knock it out of my hand. How the wideness will affect my son when he starts feeding himself, I don’t know. I’m holding off on that until his motor skills have developed more- I don’t need extra messes to clean up right now!

The bowl part of the spoon is wider and deeper than other brands I’ve tried. This is also something I now prefer. My son is more than capable of larger bites, and the spoon gives him that. With or without the train, I’m finding myself reaching for these spoons more often than my others, because of the fit.

I find the spoons easy to clean; I just slide the train off and pop the spoon in the dishwasher. Baby J is fascinated by the train, and I think it’s a vast improvement on the plane and train sounds my daddy used to make while feeding us kids!

Watch the video below to hear and see the Sound Bite in action. Baby J wasn’t thrilled with the purple surprise I was feeding him, but he loves the train! Also, I’m not usually that messy when feeding him, but I’m not coordinated enough to feed him cleanly and operate my cellphone video camera!

Where and what to buy:

You can find the Sound Bite Weaning Spoons at Best Baby Gear. They’re on sale right now!
