Body after Baby Fitness Event- The Introduction

Welcome to the Body after Baby Fitness Event!

Oct. 21-30

From Oct. 21 to 30, we’ll hear from a variety of guest writers -all mothers- who share their personal weight loss and fitness experiences. These moms have all met different fitness and weight loss goals and come from a variety of backgrounds. Some of these moms have met their “final” goals and now work on maintaining the fitness level they’ve already reached, while others (like myself) are still working to get there. Many of these women have inspired me to be healthier and more active in my own lifestyle. We’ll probably never have our pre-pregnancy hips and tummies ever again, but we can still be healthy and happy while we keep up with our kids!

You may not agree with all the points of view and lifestyles represented during this event, and perhaps some of them truly aren’t feasible for you or me…but my hope is you’ll be able to relate to one or more of these awesome moms, and figure out what will work for you. Let’s inspire each other to be healthy and comfortable in our own bodies!

Starting Wednesday, Oct. 23, I’ll be hosting a fitness giveaway on My Life: A Work in Progress, so keep your eyes out for that! I’ll be giving away sample tins of SKINNYbits and ENERGYbits, as well as a $35 e-certificate to Road ID, and a thick Sweaty Band.

Review: Bottle Pets baby bottle covers

I received a Dylan the Octopus Bottle Pet to review.

Bottle Pets on My Life: A Work in Progress

About:

Bottle Pets are machine-washable baby bottle covers. Shaped like stuffed animals, these plush toys are practical and fun. They work to help insulate the baby bottle and encourage early hand-eye coordination skills. Babies will find it easier to hold their own bottle by grasping their Bottle Pet. Bottle Pets meet or exceed all statutory safety guidelines and have undergone rigorous safety tests.

Bottle Pet designs include: Riley the Bunny, Sammy the Bulldog. Drew the Ladybug, Gracie the Pig, Dylan the Octopus, Bailey the Cow, and Charlie the Dinosaur.

Experiences:

Since I decided Baby J was a little too old to test out Bottle Pets (although he loves plush toys), I gave Dylan the Octopus to my husband’s cousin (going to call her “A” in this review).

Her little one is five months old now, and “A” told me that he loves to hold the Bottle Pet. However, they weren’t able to easily use their Tommee Tippee bottles with the Bottle Pet, so that was a drawback for them. The website does state that Bottle Pets are one size fits all. From what “A” told me, it was difficult to get the wider Tommee Tippee bottles into the Bottle Pet, but it’s possible.

The Bottle Pet is designed to actually slide the baby bottles into the Bottle Pet from the bottom. There’s a YouTube video HERE that demonstrates how to do this. “A” suggested the Bottle Pet brand consider a future zipper design on the outside that would allow parents to zip the Bottle Pet around the bottle, so the Bottle Pet can more easily fit a variety of bottle styles.
