Review: Keep your teething baby stylish with Bazzle Baby Banda Bibs! #holidaygiftguide

Baby J has been teething, is teething, and probably will still be teething for weeks to come. As he’s cutting his pre-molars and molars, the amount of drool that comes out of his mouth is just amazing. How does he stay hydrated?! The tops of his shirts become completely saturated, unless I put a bib on him, which he usually yanks off immediately. But I’ve tricked him. He doesn’t realize the bandanas that Bazzle Baby sent us to review are actually BIBS and not just cool toddler accessories, so he keeps them on. Win for Mommy! =D

Bazzle Baby is a fun online store that sells paci clips, burpers (burp clothes), hair accessories, socks, Little Leggies (leg warmers), hats, and several styles of bibs. I’m crazy about the Handmade Baby Bibs that Bazzle Baby sells. They’re made by moms here in the USA, and they’re really, really cute!

We received two of the Banda Bib II in Lime Greenie and a blue giraffe print (pictured above) that I couldn’t find on their website. The bibs are made with 100 percent cotton in the front and 100 percent polyester on the back, so they soak up the moisture and keep it off your baby or toddler’s skin. Both bibs are really, really soft too. I think that’s part of the reason why Baby J doesn’t mind wearing them- they’re more comfortable than any other bib he owns, especially around the neck.

The bibs fasten in the back with snaps. There are two snaps, letting you adjust the bib as your baby grows.

Bazzle Baby also sent us their Houndstooth Burper (9″x18″), which looks much better in person than in the website photo! It’s big, soft, and absorbent. If you’re looking for a nice quality burp cloth, I’d definitely recommend checking out the 100 percent cotton burpers on Bazzle Baby.

Review: My Hikes (solution to those too-long baby/toddler pants!)

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

As a cloth diapering family, there are certain challenges we face, notably the “cloth diaper booty.” Maybe there’s another popular term for this errr problem, but cloth diaper booty is what I call it, anyway! Baby J is quite skinny, but because of his stuffed cloth diapers, his bum always needs to be in a larger size of pants than he would normally wear. But if the pants fit in the bum, they’re usually too long. I usually roll the pants legs up, but they’re forever coming back down. Toddlers play hard, you know?

I was given the opportunity to receive a complimentary set of My Hikes. As colorful pant cuff fasteners, My Hikes allow you to easily transition your child to the next size of pants, even if they’re still too long. These simple accessories allow children to get more wear out of their clothes or wear brands that are typically a little long. Stepping on the heels of their pants will cause your kids’ clothes to wear out sooner, and cuffing them…well, do their cuffs stay up? Baby J’s don’t, and neither do mine (yes, adults can wear My Hikes too).

Don’t forget to take your My Hikes off before putting clothes in the wash! I forgot. You’re supposed to clean them by hand, but Baby J’s My Hikes did survive a cycle through the wash on cold and permanent press. They didn’t go through the dryer though. Since then I’ve remembered to take them off.

Over time, the My Hikes do start to slip off my son’s pants. Update: He had My Hikes on his sweatpants all afternoon, and they stayed completely put. I’m not sure why they slide a little bit sometimes and other times they don’t. They’ve never come all the way off, but they’ll come about half way off (they still work at this point), then I refasten them. I attribute this to both the material in his pants and how hard he plays (rolling around, crawling, climbing, etc.).

I chose the “Dump Truck” design because at that time, Baby J was really into trucks. I like the design; it’s cute and three dimensional. I have to put his My Hikes towards the back of his pants and put them on when he’s not paying attention. If he sees them, he tries to pull them off!

In the photo below, Baby J is actually wearing a disposable diaper. We were out of town for Thanksgiving, and although sometimes we do cloth diaper on trips, I was trying to take as little luggage as possible. Well, with a now-flat bum, all of his pants were suddenly sagging and too long, even if they fit before! We used his My Hikes for most of the trip.

The princess design is sold out, but My Hikes still sells the train, dump truck, butterfly, flower, soccer, and baseball.

Overall I’m pleased with how well they work, and will probably be buying the train set of My Hikes. I was forever rolling up Baby J’s pant cuffs, and these aren’t nearly as much work!

Review: The “invisibelt”- all belt, no bulk #holidaygiftguide

When I first came across the invisibelt, I watched the promotional video and said, “This is genius! I NEED this!” Kathy -the creator of invisibelt- agreed to send me one of their new naked (clear) skinny versions to try out, so I can share my experiences with you.

Have you ever really needed to wear a belt, but opted not to because the belt buckle sticks out, making it look like you have a weird gut or something going on? I have- many times. Perhaps the way your body is shaped, your jeans are loose around the bum. My problem is I like the flexibility of stretch jeans, but by the end of the day, they’ve stretched to the point that they’ll start sagging and falling down.

The belt issue is the worst when I wear a tunic top. Actually, my regular tops are quite long too (have you noticed that’s the style in recent years?), so they’ll cover my belt as well, and then it just looks like I have some strange protrusion right above my pelvis. And as a mother, the last area I want to call attention to is my lower stomach (*ahem* baby pooch).

That’s what I love about my new invisibelt. It’s incredibly slim and virtually undetectable under my shirts. The belt is easy to adjust before wearing, and just clasps together in the front. I usually twist the belt a little, so the clasp is a couple inches off center (the second photo does not show me doing this, however). Having the clasp off center makes the belt lie even more flat.

Check out my photos below, and let me know what you think! I want to apologize for my photos. My hubby’s gone for training, and I have no way to take photos of myself other than my iPhone. The quality’s not so great, but I think you’ll get the idea. :/
