Review: Mustache-shaped cookie cutters (and a sugar cookie recipe too!)

Mustache-everything has become extremely popular over the last couple of years. My SIL planned an awesome “little man” party last year that included mustache straws, games, and more. Our local party supply store carries mustache cups and magnets. I’ve spotted mustache t-shirts (for girls too!) at different retail stores and actually being worn as well.

As a member of the Tomoson community, I received a set of 3 mustache cookie cutters from Fuzzy Ink.

Fuzzy Ink Cookie Cutter set of 3

About:

Each cookie cutter set includes three different mustache styles, all made of stainless steel. The size of the cutters varies depending on the shape, but they each around around 4″ wide by 1 1/4 to 1 1/2″ tall.

The Recipe:

Fuzzy Ink Cookie Cutter 2

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups sifted all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 cups butter
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350° F.
  • Sprinkle about 1/4 cup flour onto work surface. Roll dough 1/4 inch thick on floured surface.
  • Cut with cookie cutters. Place 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheets.
  • Bake 7 to 9 minutes or until edges are light golden brown. Cool 1 minute; remove from cookie sheets.
  • Repeat with remaining dough. Cool completely before frosting.
My Experiences:

The cookie cutters were easy to use. I followed the instructions on the package and had no trouble cutting out the shapes or transferring them to the cookie sheet. You can pick them up and transfer them by hand or use a thin spatula (of course, some of this will depend on the type and texture of cookie you make). I did notice the cutters seemed thinner than the other cookie cutters I have, so you may want to handle them and store them carefully to ensure they last.

The Scoop:

Each mustache cookie cutter set retails for $16, and $5 of your purchase will be donated to the Movember Foundation to support men’s health. What mustache memorabilia or gear have you spotted?

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers. I was not compensated for this post.
