Review: Personalized Toddler Backpack from Posy Lane

Looking for the perfect gift? Want it personalized? Posy Lane is an online store that offers a variety of personalized gifts for the whole family (yourself included!).

In 2007, Posy Lane began as a brick-and-mortar store in McKinney, Texas by a husband and wife team. After the birth of their first child, they decided to close the store and focus on their online business. Posy Lane has grown significantly in the last few years. The business is now based out of a warehouse and office in North Dallas and employs several workers, full and part-time.

I’m excited that I got the opportunity to review one of the custom toddler backpacks from Posy Lane. The Stephen Joseph quilted collection is so adorable!

I chose the monkey print and had the flap embroidered with my son’s middle name.

To be honest, it was difficult to choose a backpack (I really liked the sailboat and space ones too), but we’re a big fan of monkeys in this house. 🙂

All the personalization choices available surprised me ($6 fee in addition to price of backpack). First choose embroidery, initials, monogram, or modern monogram. Then, you choose one of 30 fonts, and finally your thread color. There are 39 choices for thread color!

I chose embroidery with the Boyz R font in aqua.

Posy Lane Personalization

Measuring 11″ tall by 13″ wide by 4″ deep, this backpack is made of 100 percent cotton, so it’s machine washable (that’s a must for me)! The straps are adjustable through use of the buttons and button holes. There’s a handle on top, as well, for easier carrying.

There’s a double drawstring on this backpack as well as a magnetic snap closure on the flap.

There’s a pocket on the side with a cute “Monkey Business” charm hanging from the zipper.

Our Experiences:

The little zip pocket on the side is just big enough for my wallet and a couple other necessities (*ahem* lip gloss). This is nice, since it means I don’t have to carry a purse plus a diaper bag. Win!

Posy Lane Roomy Pocket

The backpack is quite roomy inside; I was surprised at how much it could hold.

So what exactly was inside the backpack?

All of this:

Posy Lane Contents
Contents: 5 cloth diapers, large wipes case, small wetbag, stack of disposable diaper liners, burp cloth (receiving blanket), hand sanitizer, kleenex, face blotting wipes, and lip gloss.

I actually could have fit more, but I wouldn’t have been able to close the magnetic snap, just the drawstring.

Need to visualize the size? Here’s a photo of my friend’s 3-year old daughter wearing the backpack:

We’ve been using the backpack on our daily excursions like grocery shopping, walks, play dates, and going out to eat. I love carrying it around, because it’s adorable, and as soon as Baby J is walking…he’s going to carry it around. 🙂
